vista premium!?
I have read so many complaints about vista on this site I just want to set the record straight. I finally broke down and installed it yesterday and to be very honest it’s awesome, of course you must have a very good system to run it @ it’s full max! xp has nothing on it! so anyone thinking of upgrading I would highly recommend it as long as you have a good system!
Honestly I wouldn’t upgrade to it until I was forced to, but I‘m like that, I‘ve never bought a new OS, it has always been with a system, I only switched from Win98 because my laptop had XP, when my last laptop died I returned to Desktops, and went for Vista. I agree it truly is awesome but it is nothing that is a cut above XP and as far as I can see there is no significant overall change.
It is nice to hear that somebody had a pleasant ‘upgrading’ experience however.
The remaining PC in the house (my Dads) could in no way handle Vista, even if I upgraded it for him, it was a low end HP and for as long as XP works well he’ll use it. I don’t understand the fears of the dropping support (in 2011) by that time they’ll be a very low risk of security because hackers/crackers will have all moved onto specifically targeting Vista, so the need for security updates will eventually cease to be required.
That said, there are so many ‘silly’ questions of when buying a new computer coming down to “XP or Vista”; they’re not so much silly but have an obvious answer. One way or the other, the way forward is Vista and I don’t see it as being a step backwards. I do dislike the bully tactics of Microsoft Games only being released for Vista, but I’m not a fan of their releases anyway.
