which processor is better Core i7 quad core or Xeon quad core?
Realy, ? i7, quad core, I thought the
Xeon “Nehalem” Quad Core was which they make for the Mac Pro was more powerful
Depends on what you use it for. If you are talking straight, no-holds-barred processing power, the biggest, baddest boy is the Xeon W5590. It smokes everything else, including the i7 975, in passmark CPU benchmark tests. The 975 comes in second. What’s the difference? One’s $1000, the other is $1500. The Xeon’s and the i7 are the top dogs, with them alternating at the top of the charts. The best AMD, the 6 core Opteron, scores barely better than half the score of the Xeon. Of course, it costs half as much as well.
